Art West Landscape Prize 2020
The Art West Landscape Prize is open to Members of the Art West Group. Members may enter up to 3 works.
Cost of entry is the usual Art West $10 per entry.
Prize money for the competition is $500 for first prize and $100 for Highly Commended Prize chosen by an independent judge and awarded at the Exhibition opening night function on Thursday May 28th. A prize of $100 for a Peoples Choice prize will be awarded at the completion of the exhibition. Other prizes may be available as sponsors come on board.
The entered work must be a landscape. The term 'landscape' is to be understood broadly and is not intended as a limitation on approach, for example, seascapes and cityscapes are acceptable within the definition as are abstract landscapes.
The term 'painting' is to be understood broadly. Any two-dimensional medium is acceptable (excluding photography and prints), no digital enhancement is allowed.
All artworks entered by the artist must be the original work and concept of the artist.
The entered artwork must be new (completed within the previous 24 months) and be the absolute property of the artist, and must not have been entered previously in any Art West competition.
The finished artwork, including the frame, must be no larger than 110cm (height) x 110cm (width) and must be framed. A stretched canvas is considered framed.
Entries must be for sale. The artist shall indicate their sale price here on this form and the didactic. The usual Art West commission applies. The sale price indicated in the entry form shall apply and shall remain fixed for the duration of the exhibition.
Entries must be received by Art West Community Gallery no later than 6pm Thursday 14th May 2020. Entries will not be accepted after this time. Usual AWCG payment methods apply.
Entries shall be delivered for hanging at the bump-in on 24th May 2020,. All works must be prepared with the appropriate wire and D hooks attached and must be marked clearly on the back with artist’s name and title of work. Please supply the usual AWCG didactic at bump-in.
Artists in this exhibition will allow their works to be reproduced in print and electronic formats for the purpose of advertising and promoting the exhibition. The Gallery reserves the right to reproduce the winning entry in relation to the Prize.
