My journey into the artistic world began some 30 years ago when I was introduced to mud, glorious mud. I completed a Certificate of Ceramics at South Brisbane TAFE and have had and am still on, an amazing learning curve. My main pleasure comes from 'throwing' a pot on the potter's wheel, but there is much to explore with hand building.
Some 7 years ago, I attended a Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. This too encaptured my imagination and have attended many a drawing and painting class, with quite a few workshops thrown in. My main medium is acrylics, but inks, watercolours, life drawing all attract my attention
Then, just as I settled down to having two artistic elements in my life, along came glass slumping. The colours achieved with dichroic glass were spectacular and I started slumping plates and making jewellery.
I see art as a lifelong journey of exploration and creativity: a way to enhance my life and serve as a non-verbal communication of emotion, colour.
