Jennifer Fairless

After a lifelong fascination with art and artists, Jennifer Fairless was inspired to experiment with paint. Her imagination finds endless inspiration in observing people and places, which she interprets through colour and form to evoke feeling and tell a story. Working primarily in abstract styles, Jennifer enjoys the manipulation of oils and the subjectivity and drama that abstraction offers. Her paintings are inspired by memories, travel experiences, and observations of the world around her, capturing emotions and narratives through expressive shapes and colour. Travel has played a significant role in shaping her artistic vision.

Visits to major galleries across Europe, Asia, the United States and Australia have broadened her artistic perspective and influenced her creative practice. Jennifer has been encouraged and guided by accomplished artists and teachers including Salsmeh Mehdizadeh of Sally’s Gallery and Perrin Millard of Perrin Gallery and Studio. Sally introduced her to oils, while Perrin encouraged her to share her work publicly. Together, these influences have helped shape her continuing artistic journey. Jennifer recently entered the Lilly-Lee Art School and St Luke's Anglican Church Art Exhibition 2026 and was awarded Highly Commended for her painting entitled 'Tang'.
