Robyn Hill

As an emerging artist, my practice in contemporary abstract realism is guided by emotion and intuition, expressed through paint, texture and line. Working with oils, acrylic, and mixed mediums, I build layered under paintings that set the tone and depth of each piece. These foundations allow colour, texture, and form to interact in ways that feel both organic and intentional. I’m drawn to the space where abstract meets recognisable detail- where a brush stroke of light, a curve or a suggestion of subject offers the viewer a point of connection. This balance of realism and abstraction invites both contemplation and interpretation. Exploring different techniques and materials is central to my growth as an emerging artist. Ultimately, I aim to create paintings that evoke an emotional response. Keeping the work fluid and responsive invites the viewer to linger, engage and find their own meaning within the layers.
