Susan Segal
Susan’s artistic story began early in life, firstly with sketching, then, at age 14 she discovered photography with a rescued Box Brownie camera and a single roll of monochrome film gifted by her mother which sparked a lifelong fascination with the dance of light and shadow; a passion that would shape her signature chiaroscuro style.
A decade ago she bought her first drone, opening up a whole new world. Her travels have since become opportunities to capture the extraordinary from a different perspective.
Trained first as a draughtswoman and later as an Illumination Engineer, Susan blends technical precision with artistic intuition. She paints both abstract and with a realistic touch. Since recently downsizing, she has begun exploring the delicate possibilities of watercolour.
Now retired, Susan delights in having the time to create, wander, and follow the road less travelled.
