Trudee Hunter
Trudee has loved art in its many forms from the time she picked up her first crayon or colouring-in pencil as a child. She learnt the art of signwriting in her early twenties, and worked part time as a resident artist and screen printer for her father-in-law at his signwriting business,
She has always made time to involve herself in a variety of creative pursuits but since retirement her passion for Art took hold and she is in her element when working on one artistic project or another. And because she thrives on challenges, she finds herself alternating between acrylic paintings, both realistic, abstract or textured, mixed media works of art which include collages and she also enjoys 3D sculptured art, using either modelling paste or airdry clay or a combination of both.
Trudee's artwork can be viewed at The Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, and The Seaside Gallery in Redcliffe and is always thrilled when sales come her way via these venues or through retail shops. But her main motivation to keep painting is that whilst she is concentrating on one project, her mind is already exploring the possibilities of the next. Due to her love of variety, it is not an easy task pin her down to a particular style, and her colour choices range from vibrantly bold, to subdued and blended hues. But she will readily admit that nature is her main source of inspiration. Such as the every-changing vistas of the seasons, birds and animals, seascapes and landscapes, and of course flowers and plant life in all their beauty.
